...

You may not realize it but...

You walk down the street with your shoulders turned inwards, your head down, your hair partially covering your face so that others can't see you clearly yet my dear you are hard to miss due not only to the beauty which you possess on the outside, but from the sheer magnificence of the beauty which radiates from the inside. Hide it all you want but your glory wears you like a luminescent light.

When you smile, your hand automatically reaches up to cover your lips as if you fear smiling though I believe you yearn to smile freely without reservation. Sometimes though when the smile escapes, it never quite reaches your beautiful eyes. Smile sweetheart, smile till your jaw aches and you need to stop due to sheer exhaustion.

You put so much of yourself into your job that often times, you lose yourself in the process. You are to be admired for your hard working ethics but nothing is more important than you. Can you remember that? You will put everything ahead of your own need, no matter how badly you need. There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with being selfish at times. Embrace your selfish side.

You believe that you have nothing to say yet in your head you have things that are screaming to be said. We often fear making ourselves look like fools however is it not better to be a bit foolish than regretting a missed opportunity to give it back as good as you get?

You have convinced yourself that people are watching and judging you at all times yet you judge yourself far more harshly than anyone else can. We truly are our own worse enemies. Even the most put together, arrogant, self-centered of us humans suffer from inner voices that jeer us and constantly criticize. The trick is to (at times) tell our inner voices to shut the fuck up.

You forget that you are human and that you are allowed to feel pain, hurt, anger and disgust for your fellow human beings and that even at times you are allowed to show how you feel to others. It is okay. Embrace your inner bitch. She is more your friend than you may believe.

You forget that you are human and that you can have faith, trust, love and rely on others. There are people who surround you who love you. There are people who think of you and say a prayer for you every day, you just don't know that they are doing so. Know that when you are in pain, individuals will also feel pain for you and on the flip side, when you rejoice, others hearts will rejoice for you.

Due to your past, you fear your future. Let go Dearest Heart. Relegate the past to the past and forge your way into a future that will be filled with happiness (and sadness), love (and hate), laughter (and tears), easy roads (and tough road blocks). These things are all aspects of life that make it interesting and will give you something to recall in your twilight years.

Due to your past, you distrust your own instincts. The best thing about growing up is that you have the opportunity to learn from your past. Remember, the older you get, the more lessons you learn. The more you learn, the more you grow to trust yourself and what your instincts tell you. If you're wrong, then you will learn again, in the process growing more. Sometimes your instincts are wrong, but usually it's right. Believe in yourself, trust in yourself.

When you love, you love completely yet you fear being hurt in return. Have faith in those you put your love in. That is the glory of love. If they hurt you, they never deserved your love in the first place. Know that sometimes hurt can also be unintentional. Do not penalized because your heart has become rigid.

You have isolated yourself because you feel as if you bring nothing to other peoples lives. Oh my dearest, sweetest, most precious of friends, you have brought infinite happiness in my life by just knowing you. 1000 casual acquaintances are not worth even one of you. You are...magical.

I could go on and on, I could write till my fingers ached but I think you understand what I say here. What you are worth can not be determined by others, not even me. First and foremost, learn to believe in yourself.

The thing is, we quietly all suffer some iteration of the same fears, insecurities that you have. We live our lives holding it all in, suffocating within the shell of our own bodies all the while smiling widely on the outside. We somehow quietly manage to convince ourselves that no one else could possibly understand nor be able to sympathize nor care. I believe, that at the end of the day, this is what ties all of us together, our insecurities.

I just want you to tell you: Do not feel alone. You aren't alone. You will never be alone.
