Woo...Tired Toes!

Today was a tough day...here's how it panned out:

12am: wrapped up a 2 hour argument with P regarding the presidential race.
5am: Smacked the alarm clock and snoozed
5:10am: Smacked alarm clock again and snoozed
5:50am: Smacked alarm clock again and snoozed
6:10am: Smacked alarm clock and cursed a blue streak (and snoozed)
6:20am: Gasped, jumped out of bed, accused clock unjustly of never having alerted to lateness of time
6:20:20am: Pushed a half shaved P out of the bathroom and slammed the door in his face.
6:30am: Out of the shower to hastily dry, mousse, moisturize self.
7:00am: Grab umbrella, slip into tennies, smooch P, zoom out of house in a rush (leaving umbrella in the process on dining table which astounds and mystifies since having it in hand whilst hurrying).
7:05am: Standing at poll trying not to freeze and/or fall asleep on feet.
7:50am: Shuffle out of voting center sporting kitchie sticker which loudly declares that I've done my civic duty.
8:30am: Arrive at work with a roll of eyes and a sigh on lips
8:32:01am: Glare at loads of folks loitering in reception then remind self that they are there for a good reason.
8:32:02am to 2:30pm: SINK INTO A BLACK PIT OF DESPAIR AND HELL
2:35pm: Pull off the escape of the century, jump into car to join other Election Protection Volunteers to man polling centers
3:00pm to 7:05pm: Cover 4 polling centers by car making sure everything is running smoothly, chat with people, laugh, bitch over the weather, watch with disdain as hair becomes frizzy uncontrollable mess, sip coffee, laugh more, watch more, eye excessive police passing by, laugh more, help where I can all while getting rained on and ruining favorite pants in process.
7:30pm: Drag soaked tired limbs home, find out that own husband voted the other way having to remind self that he has the right to vote any way he wants (even if he is wrongggggggg).
8:30pm: Sitting blogging and watching CNN, biting nails to the nub while reminding herself that she shouldn't count chickens before they hatch.
8:40:29pm: Does dance of joy when Pennsylvania is projected for Obama.
8:40:30pm: Continues to pray.
When will this night end????
